There actually is gravity space! Gravity is a force that is related to mass, so you experience the force when you are near a large mass. When you are up in space, the earth is still pulling on you, but as you’re further away the force is much lower. The force of gravity is what is keeping planets in orbit around the sun.

Gravity is also what is keeping the earth’s atmosphere attached to the planet, and the Earth’s magnetic field help protect the atmosphere against the sun’s rays. If we didn’t have either of those things, the atmosphere (and the oxygen in it) would be blown off into space.
