Question: Why do you feel like you shoulf get the 500 quid

I really want to encourage and foster interest in fungi and plants in schools, as I know those subjects are often seen as boring! My hope is that I can use to £500 to put together some resources and equipment that I can use to take to schools and show off at science fairs (when both of those things become ready to start again! – maybe some sort of online science festival could become a thing!). There is so much science going on at Rothamsted Research (outside of me and the fungus I study) that could benefit from a little bit of money to get some public/school engagement activities going to help other scientists talk to students about their amazing work. I may be able to help other scientists get the next generation of scientists excited about learning how we could feed the world!
