      Hi Jabari,

The biggest problem is to get research funding to do the actual work. Nowadays governments are reducing funds for scientific research and this has caused major issues in terms of innovation and outputs.

Hello Jabari! My biggest struggle has been with believing in my own abilities to be a scientist. I still catch myself wondering if I am smart enough, do I deserve my ‘success’ or thinking that everyone else seems to know what they were doing and that I never do. The truth is that there is no way I could have made it to where I am now without a few people (other than myself on good days) believing I could do it, and lots of people feel that way too.

Binuraj has rather stolen my thunder here as I am on the other side of the table and help decide which scientists like him get the funding! I would completely agree this is the biggest challenge – we have to turn away so many great ideas due to a lack of money
