      I’m a trustee for a charity called the Mechanics Institution Trust. This is a charity based in my local area of Swindon which seeks to restore local heritage buildings back to use. Swindon has a fascinating history as the home of Brunel’s Great Western Railway where it was the first place to develop a number of things including the first lending library in the UK, the first Turkish bath in the UK and a blueprint for the NHS.

      If I won the money, I would use it make improvements to our community café in a Grade II listed former pub from this time.
