• Question: i'm considering a career in bio-chemistry, what do you recommend taking at GCSE and A-level?

      I think yours is a very good decision. Yes, studying science subject especially, biology, chemistry and physics is good for bio-chemistry career. When you are at University you could join for specific courses like Bachelors in Biochemistry and get more specialisation in biocatalysis, chemical biology, biophysics or any similar/associated subjects.

    I think Binuraj is right, any science is good (of course especially biology and chemistry). I would also say maths is very useful in all sciences and it’s good to keep your options broad, maybe choose something that isn’t science/maths based to break things up a bit! For my A-levels I did physics, chemistry, maths, and French, and it was nice having a subject that was more of a “hobby” subject. You could also find work experience in a biochemistry lab during your A-levels, and that will give you an idea of what it’s like as a career
